There is more to EV battery size than just range. Larger batteries have these traits:
  • More range.
  • More HP possible.
  • More regen possible.
  • Faster charging possible.
  • Takes longer to warm up if cold.
  • More weight.
  • More size.
  • Less vehicle capacity.
  • Few miles per kWh.
Is there anything we actually know about the 180 battery advantages and disadvantages?

Is there anything we actually know about the 180 battery advantages and disadvantages?
Well we know that the 180 kWh battery will have more range (400 miles vs. 300 miles)

The battery will weigh more because that's the reason why Rivian used the 135 kWh battery for the Rebelle Rally instead of the 180.

It will be physically bigger because on the R1S for example you can't get the third row seat with the 180 battery.
