I‘ve wondered about Amazon’s intentions with Rivian for some time and it’s now clear that Rivian is Amazon’s entry into the EV space. While Apple continues to tease and Tesla runs out front - Amazon has neatly packaged an EV player it clearly controls and has positioned itself beautifully. Whether it’s the billions it (or its “friends”) has invested, Bezos running around in R1T’s or an order for 100,000 vans that stays on track while us customers get sidelined, Amazon’s influence is obvious. Very clever - and that my friends explains the IPO valuation!

There is no IPO valuation yet. Valuations to date aren't driven by it being Amazon's "EV puppet" so much as major institutions performing their due diligence and arriving at their independent estimates of what it's worth.

No valuation yet but rumors are $25B. Only way that makes any sense for a company that hasn’t yet delivered a vehicle is there is a solid financial long term partner. Amazon invested in Zoox self driving but doesn’t have a vehicle. Amazon’s invested billions in Rivian (vehicle) and placed billions and years worth of vehicle orders?

Actually it's 70B or was about a month ago
Please don't post misinformation if you don't know. The latest round announced on Friday values Rivian @ $27.6 billion.

Sure and this IPO underwriter selection announcement, indicated Rivian themselves would be looking for a 70B evaluation.. the 27B number u are referencing dates back to January, should maybe heed your own advice, and stop posting misinformation...and reread the article you linked, which indicates the 27B evaluation was related to the round of funding that happened in January. The article did not specify the evaluation placed on the last round of funding over the past few days
