Interesting.Interesting the response in #3 is complete opposite of what I hear today. I just chatted with a Rivian rep and was told some of the preproduction units had it on Front Right but the production version will be on Front Left (drivers Side) and will support a Nema 14/15 plug.
Doubt this will make the final version, but having a port on both sides will satisfy the most real world situations with short charging cords. I see this all the time with my Model Y in public stations with a single charger with 2 plugs.I prefer passenger side, due to my existing charger location. Better yet would be to offer a port on BOTH sides.
Driver side front is my preference. That way a Tesla supercharger cable won’t reachInteresting.
I really hope its on the drivers side as that seems to be the most logical choice. VW Group does it with the e-tron SUV and it makes a lot of sense (to me).
What would everyone here prefer? Driver or passenger side?
Welcome to the forum @Abstractreasoner. Which Rivian model and spec are you getting?Driver side front is my preference. That way a Tesla supercharger cable won’t reach
I emailed this ??? on 23 Nov 20 and here's their response:
Great question about the charge door, you will charge your vehicle on the drivers side just like you presumed.
The charge port is in fact on the driver's side.Driver side front is my preference. That way a Tesla supercharger cable won’t reach
