Anyone charge a Teslas at Rivian chargers. Rivian is operating the 5 chargers our marina installed.

via Rivian app I’m assuming?

As of Tuesday evening 2025-02-18, the Astoria (Oregon) RAN chargers were still fenced off and not yet open. Are they open now, @EaglesPDX?

To address your question, I haven't yet tried any of the few RANs that have been opened to non-Rivian vehicles. We'll have to wait for someone who knows, or for someone to figure it out.

Thanks and best wishes!

The V2 that Rivian has opened 2 other vehicles like Joshua Tree they have screens and a touch payment pad. If you go to the charger tab in the app and go to the charger, click into the details you can start the charger from there. I have not tested it, I see it for all chargers not just the ones open to other brands.

A bit concerned since Astoria is listed as an "Adventure Network" site similar to the one in Aberdeen WA and they are all listed "Exclusive Rivian". Hopefully the install on public property and the new but now canceled rules will make it open to others. If not, what a waste. They'll just sit there unused. Of course, if the R2 tows 5k# and I get it, be nice to have my own private charging station.

They are brand new, not open yet, listed on Rivian site as Adventure Network which all state exclusive to Rivian. It is all built and ready to go. It is built on public property, Port of Astoria parking lot so hopefully open to the public. If Rivian just paid the port and it is exclusive to Rivian doubt they'll last through the Summer as they'll sit unused and the lot gets crowded in the Summer and by a very anti-EV populace, older white fisherman, driving massive lifted pickups. Sitting unused while people can't park will not go over well. If they are open to everybody, they'll be EV's charging, still a pain for the demographic but at least someone is parking there. Empty is going make them go Musk with rage.

Has Rivian ever stated it would open its Adventure Network to other EV's?

Why does the Rivian map say "Exclusive to Rivians" on all the RAN chargers? Is there some place where Rivian details which Rivian chargers are open to non-Rivians since the current map states otherwise.

Might take a spin to Oregon City RAN and see if I can charge the Tesla at the RAN chargers.

Correct...there is no filter on the map. Just click on the symbol for the RAN station, and the black info box will appear on the map. It does appear that all the RAN stations in your area are still exclusive to Rivian. The closest station I could find that is open to others is in Bozeman MT which doesn't help you much.

Ugh....Rivian only. All ready to go (CCS plugs). Going to write to Scaringe and request they make it open to all EV's. That doesn't work, put pressure on Port that public land is closed off to public use. Port can lease areas to other businesses so that won't have much traction. If its profit sharing, point to Port they will be losing revenue.

You're making me want to use that station, @EaglesPDX, even though it's not far from my home, in order to support Rivian's ability to operate its network as it wishes.

I would prefer to see RAN figure out more openness, but that will take time and hardware/software accommodations.

I think the Port can lease to whomever it wants, as long as there's an honest expectation of public benefit. They don't have to agree with you, they just have to have a publicly defensible reason for having done what they did at the time.

Relevant to many current issues, including the Astoria RAN: As I recall, it might have been President John Kennedy who said, "We will frighten no Russians by threatening our allies."

Very best wishes!

Charging away at Astoria RAN. It is open to all EV's. Started at 28% and no preconditioning. Hoping it will be faster with lower state of charge and preconditioning but 92kWh is just fine for being right at the marina. Six new chargers in town will be great for everyone. Bet it will be packed in the summer time. I'm sure it was my letter to RJ that did it.

Here's a pic of the entire site. I'm charging on the trailer charger. $24.75 for 42.75kW. Just finished my Blue Scorcher breakfast, empty the trash (down by the transformers) and time to go. Coffee shop in the parking lot. KFC you can see. Public bathrooms at the marina, 200 ft away. Warmer weather, watch the activity in the marina.

The Astoria OR Rivian chargers are showing active on the map and do show as open to all EV's.

Whew! I thought maybe it was just that they were new and I kind of snuck the Tesla in but it is official, they are open to all EV's.
