You can start the climate control (including ventilated seats and heated steering wheel) remotely using the Rivian app. Recycled Air setting is on the climate control screen; it cannot be set in the app.

As far as I know, battery conditioning can't be done manually; it's done automatically when you set the Rivian nav system to head to a Level 3 charger as the destination. I don't typically use public chargers, so I'm no expert in this area; others might have more insight into battery pre-conditioning.

I have 23 dual motor, performance R1T and it hasn't notified me when navigating to a charger but it's probably because the battery has been active for an hour plus on those few trips to the charger

100% charge is currently showing 369 miles after 13 months of ownership and 40k

 

In the app. click on climate. scroll down and click on schedule. you can then add a scheduled day and time and then it lets you choose cabin temp and other items. FYI. if you don't toggle it off later, it will continue to pre heat at the scheduled time.

 

I have set the charge target up a couple percent an hour or so before leaving for a long drive in cold weather. The car will heat the battery to charge efficiently and deliver better efficiency while driving than heading off with a cold battery.

Is your response based on empirical data? i.e. did you measure the battery temperature before and after the battery charge?
Rivians suggestion to heat the cockpit to 75 degrees does not make physics sense to me. Heat transfer occurs through three primary methods: conduction, convection, and radiation. Which applies? thanks

 

I haven't measured temps. I have used my app to warm my truck prior to starting my cold commute so hopefully that's helping the battery warm for max efficiency.

 

@mlopez4 is correct. When you set a schedule for cabin preconditioning in the climate screen (in the app or in the vehicle), the vehicle will also precondition the battery. Obviously best to use when plugged in but works great if you give it enough time (30-60 minutes should be enough) and it will give you max range for a given SOC.
