It will "slow" the drain, not "stop" it. All EV's draw some power while sitting.Tesla does the same thing with Sentry mode enabled, set yours to "Off at Home" and that will stop the drain.
Have you checked if the 120V AC power outlets were left in the ‘on’ setting? The inverters will draw power even when nothing is plugged in.I lost 5-10 miles even the car stays in parking. Any idea to stop the bleed?
I could be wrong but the 3-6 kWh drain in a 24hr period seems excessive. That’s like a space heater running for 2-4 hours. Could a handful of what are essentially webcams plus a small processor really draw that much power? As a Model 3 owner I can confirm the power drain using Sentry mode which is why I set it to OFF at Home. There is also a parasitic drain amongst all EV’s that are parked that to my knowledge only the Main battery cutoff switch can stop. If you are parking the vehicle in a garage for weeks or longer perhaps it would be a good idea to use this switch, but really the drain is not that much a concern in reality.
Of course, that is understood as a convention of all EV's.It will "slow" the drain, not "stop" it. All EV's draw some power while sitting.
All ICE vehicles draw some power while sitting. All EV's draw some power while sitting.
Yes, but it isn't immediately noticeable to the driver. The range is calculated based on the amount of fuel in the tank, which is at the same level as when the vehicle was parked. All ICE vehicles draw some power while sitting.
the Rivian Owners Guide mentions some options that should be de-activated to reduce this power draw as well.Of course, that is understood as a convention of all EV's.
Turning off all "optional" features should bring the draw down to baseline.
it's "off"Have you checked if the 120V AC power outlets were left in the ‘on’ setting? The inverters will draw power even when nothing is plugged in.
which section of the Guide?the Rivian Owners Guide mentions some options that should be de-activated to reduce this power draw as well.
pp 95 and 121. For some reason, I thought there was more. Sorry. I have seen this concern raised in another post but it would be good to poll people taking delivery to see if they all see 3-6 kWh of standby loss daily. Has Rivian gotten back to you on this?which section of the Guide?
That’s right Ron. Turn it off at home and work if you like.Tesla does the same thing with Sentry mode enabled, set yours to "Off at Home" and that will stop the drain.
Just leave it plugged into your wall charger unit. All fixed. It will "slow" the drain, not "stop" it. All EV's draw some power while sitting.
