I received my email today telling me that they will tell me my delivery date in January '23, third change btw.
And of course the back story is they want to make sure they have a service center nearby, nearest ones to me are Denver and Phoenix both 6-8 hours away (I am in ABQ, NM).
So my concern is I will have to wait until they build a center closer to me. Has anyone heard of any future timelines and locations for service centers?

Have you made any changes to your configuration since October 16th? If you did (however, minor), my understanding is that it will automatically cause them to change your EDD to "pending" or "processing" until the next "scheduled refresh" which is January '23. That's because today's EDDs were also calculated based on the configurations that were in place on October 16th, so if you made a change since, it would not be valid.

My R1S window is Oct-Dec 23. Was "First Half 23" originally.

Ordered a year ago.

Will probably get my Lucid Touring first.

The last thing I changed was the tornneau cover when I received that email...hmmm, maybe that was the plan, have people make changes and it pushes back delivery (conspiracy guy talking here ;)).

Got you. For what it's worth, I don't think it pushes back delivery in any way. It just means they have to recalculate the EDD based on the new configuration (whether the change is minor (e.g., removing the tonneau cover) or major (switching from quad motors to dual)), and they plan to do these calculations once a quarter (so the next one will be in January). I bet once you get your date, it will be much sooner than a lot of people who got their EDDs today.

Probably, although I hear those are quite backed up as well. If I understand correctly, they just started taking orders for the Touring, and I would imagine there are quite a few reservations. Lucid definitely looks like a great car, if you don't need the size, the third row, or the off-road capability. I love the glass roof and the interior styling of the Lucid in general.

My delivery date says "2024". Used to be 2023 2nd quarter. I have the max pack on order.
Yeah, Max Packs are definitely still a mystery. Although I heard there is talk about a Max Pack with dual motors being an option in the summer of 2023. That could be a great alternative, especially (bot not only) for post-March 1 orders.

Was it the 2nd quarter or 2nd half of 2023? I thought the predictions for 2023 were in halves ("1st half of 2023" versus "2nd half of 2023"). If it was "half", then 2024 doesn't necessarily have to mean too much of a delay. January 1 of 2024 is only a day after December 31, 2023 (which is still technically "2nd half of 2023.")

This whole process is a joke and for whatever reason the SUV is not being produced in the same volume as the truck and I am wondering if just to make their 2022 25K commit they are doing just a minimum number to say they are delivering the SUV. I also wonder if they have any intention of keeping to their promise of the pre IPO price or they are just hoping everyone will just go away with frustration so they can make their margin on the full price. I have a garden variety config, no max pack, mainstream color interior and exterior in a market of San Diego that has been no issues on getting delivery on the pickup. October 2021 was the order date and the date they come back with is no month just sometime in 2024. At the time I placed the order their were 40K total orders of which the view was their were more pickup orders than SUV. My guess was 25K on the pick up and something like 15K SUV’s. Of those probably some number were MAX pack which would have put them to the back of the line. Based on this, they will not even produce 10K in a COMBINATION of 22 and 23 of the SUV? It is going to interesting when Rivian commits to a 23 production number as I can guarantee the street is expecting a minimum of double at 50K and that may not even be enough. Especially when you factor in the Amazon vans. Something just is not smelling right and they are totally playing games and there is going to a blow up in their face as they are not scaling better than Tesla (which they should be since Rivian was not blazing ANY trail here and almost all other mainstream car manufacturers are) and other auto manufacturers are coming out like crazy with EV’s and especially by the time we get to a date of sometime in 2024. My goodness by 24 there are going to so many options. Would not surprise me if there is a Ford Bronco or Jeep Wrangler EV by then. I would be more that happy to sell my reservation at this point as this is now just stupid. If I keep it I may just do it to see if they honor 2021 pricing for a 2024 model year car. I am highly doubting that and the bait and switch will either come in 23 or they will just keep pushing out my delivery 2025 and beyond until I cancel or they just keep the zombie order on their books and they do not report any of the aging of their orders and the deliver. This way they have elevated reservation numbers of zombie customers orders they never intent to sell to until they have their production process actually producing volume. At least I have no dollars tied up in reservation while I explore new options in 23 or even 24. Hopefully the stock analysts are staying close the forums and start sniffing all this out.

We have the stock R1S on order, living in northern Vermont. Lots of R1Ts driving around. Got bumped from "2nd half of 2023" to "2024". I agree with Jay Zee — how will they ever actually sell a 2024 SUV for a 2018 price?
I am guessing the same way they have been selling 2022/2023 R1Ts for 2018 prices. Considering the unexpected economic situation globally over the past few years, and the fact that they have been willing to honor the pre-March 1 prices for pre-March 1 reservations, I see no reason why that would need to change, especially since the production is likely to optimize, thereby actually decreasing their costs. Now obviously if you ordered after March 1st, your price is not guaranteed and will probably change depending on the cost of production. People freak out despite the fact that Rivian has so far been pretty straightforward with all of their predictions. The delays are inevitable considering the environment we are in, but they have more or less been keeping us advised as to developments. My R1S reservation is from August of 2021, and in January of this year, they predicted "1st half of 2023." Today, the EDD was July/August of 2023, which is pretty darn close to the prediction from nearly a year ago.

The old prices are from November 2020, they did not have prices until the configurator went live in November of 2020.

Got the same reply. That is specious logic at best because i see R1Ts in my city. For reference, I reserved a launch edition, el cap granite, in 9/2019. Ridiculous.

February 28, 2022 order. I know there's lots of folks who've waited longer than me.
Didn't cancel when 24 hours after I placed my order the price increase debacle happened.

My build: RIS LA Silver with BM interior; 21" wheels. That's been my build from day one.
About as basic a configuration as possible.
I live 30 minutes from West Sacramento SC.

"Delivery Window" January to December 2024. A twelve month "window" commencing over a year from now. Guess I can't say they didn't give me a window.

But the message is empty and meaningless.

Happy for those of you who have closer and more narrow windows. Truly happy for you. I hope all goes well.

Not pleased right now. Probably won't be pleased about this for a while.

But, hey; it's a car; or more correctly the illusion of a car! The sun comes up tomorrow and the earth still turns.

Who knows but what Yugo may reenter the market with a high range EV SUV. Imagine the pride of driving the cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian technology! Still plenty of time for that to happen, because time is all we have right now.

Disappointed to see our delivery window shift from q4-2022 to q2-2023 for our March 2019 reservation for an R1s in the SF Bay area. Can't remember if this is the 2nd or third missed date thus far. Looks like I need to try to keep my 2005 vehicle running for another year.
