Have you made any changes to your configuration since October 16th? If you did (however, minor), my understanding is that it will automatically cause them to change your EDD to "pending" or "processing" until the next "scheduled refresh" which is January '23. That's because today's EDDs were also calculated based on the configurations that were in place on October 16th, so if you made a change since, it would not be valid.
The last thing I changed was the tornneau cover when I received that email...hmmm, maybe that was the plan, have people make changes and it pushes back delivery (conspiracy guy talking here

Got you. For what it's worth, I don't think it pushes back delivery in any way. It just means they have to recalculate the EDD based on the new configuration (whether the change is minor (e.g., removing the tonneau cover) or major (switching from quad motors to dual)), and they plan to do these calculations once a quarter (so the next one will be in January). Probably, although I hear those are quite backed up as well. If I understand correctly, they just started taking orders for the Touring, and I would imagine there are quite a few reservations. Lucid definitely looks like a great car, if you don't need the size, the third row, or the off-road capability. I love the glass roof and the interior styling of the Lucid in general.
Yeah, Max Packs are definitely still a mystery. Although I heard there is talk about a Max Pack with dual motors being an option in the summer of 2023. That could be a great alternative, especially (bot not only) for post-March 1 orders.
I am guessing the same way they have been selling 2022/2023 R1Ts for 2018 prices. Considering the unexpected economic situation globally over the past few years, and the fact that they have been willing to honor the pre-March 1 prices for pre-March 1 reservations, I see no reason why that would need to change, especially since the production is likely to optimize, thereby actually decreasing their costs. Now obviously if you ordered after March 1st, your price is not guaranteed and will probably change depending on the cost of production. People freak out despite the fact that Rivian has so far been pretty straightforward with all of their predictions. The delays are inevitable considering the environment we are in, but they have more or less been keeping us advised as to developments. My R1S reservation is from August of 2021, and in January of this year, they predicted "1st half of 2023." Today, the EDD was July/August of 2023, which is pretty darn close to the prediction from nearly a year ago.
The old prices are from November 2020, they did not have prices until the configurator went live in November of 2020.
