Rivian posted on Twitter that the first customer dual-motor R1T has rolled off the assembly line.
I haven't heard of any changes when it comes to the quad motor models. Given how important resources are these days for production I don't think Rivian is going to change anything. If they do change it I imagine it'd be at a later date once they get things going smoothly with the dual motor vehicles.Just curious...
As I recall, the dual motor configuration employs new in-house Rivian motors. So, they're in production already.
Are the current production quad-motor vehicles still being made with the Bosch motors?
That was one of my reasons for sticking with the quad-motor. I felt it was "proven reliable" and I didn't want to be a beta tester for the new motor.
Anybody know?
No,I haven't heard anything either but I'm concerned about a "midnight modification" similar to the Meridian Audio switcheroo. I don't recall that being much ballyhooed either. I just feel better about the Bosch motors at this juncture.I haven't heard of any changes when it comes to the quad motor models. I notice that the brake caliper is grey, not yellow. I also notice there isn't any yellow accent on the Rivian lettering on the side door. I wonder if they are doing that for the dual motor vs. the quad motor to distinguish them. Has anyone heard anything?Rivian posted on Twitter that the first customer dual-motor R1T has rolled off the assembly line.
Yeah I definitely get that. But I still think that if they do switch it for the quad motors it will happen later. Especially depending on the deal they have with Bosch. No,I haven't heard anything either but I'm concerned about a "midnight modification" similar to the Meridian Audio switcheroo. It's possible. Or maybe it's going to be an additional option to change the colors?I notice that the brake caliper is grey, not yellow.
