Florida officials are reporting numerous EV car fires resulting from high water during hurricane Ian (Electric vehicles are exploding from water damage after Hurricane Ian, top Florida official warns). Does anyone know of any Rivians that were caught up in the flood waters, and if so, how they fared? I would hope that the sealed systems Rivian has designed would preclude explosion as reported on the Teslas.

Given that the Rivian can wade deeper than most ICE vehicles and that Elon is touting the Cybertruck's ability to act like a boat, I am a bit suspicious that this is being blown out of proportion.

More likely they ran over debris and punctured the battery pack. There were Teslas in the Houston flooding a few years ago and I don't believe any of them caught on fire.

My brother sent this to me this morning, and given the source, I am a bit suspicious. It seems they are saying this is a possibility. If it is happen, I would think there would be more reporting on the actual incidents.
