I’m having a bit of difficulty deciding from the options menu if the actual color is Gray or more of a Green (maybe I’m being thrown off by it’s name ?). I would appreciate any advice……

I originally had FG in my config then last fall I was down in Venic Ca so I went by to see the Rivian in person and personally thought the FG was more Gray. Saved myself a few $$ and flipped to the black interior which I thought was much nicer in person than on screen. YMMV

The sample swatch at Venice Hub, FE material is definitely green, not gray. OC is pale light gray.

So many images we see online does not have the correct white point and individual monitors are not color calibrated so it varies significantly.

The FE green is a mid tone and perhaps its slight darkness makes it look bit on the gray side to some people.

When I was there they had a vehicle with the FE Interior so I was looking at the full effect (I get the swatch effect.... looking at the tiles there did not help me at all in my Canyon Red vs Rivian Blue dilemma)

I’m in the same boat. I have a Blue R1T with Forest Edge enroute to me….. nervous about a blue/green clash but I have been told “it’s more gray”. Even my Rivian specialist said it look ok.
🤞

I sure hope so….don’t want a serious case of buyer’s remorse!

It will look fine it is more gray imo... I just decided to save a few $$ because I liked the black well enough and did not love the gray

Rivian's photos of the interior are WAY off of reality. I originally chose black for the interior as I would never purchase a GREEN interior. So glad I had the opportunity to see the interior at the First Mile event. It was there that I realized, it is a GRAY interior with maybe just a hint of green in some specific lighting. I took a bunch of pictures of my truck when I got it. Wanted to get the lighting right so that the photos would represent why my eyeballs actually see when looking at it. These are the most representative of what the actual coloring looks like in person................
It's a GRAY interior. I'm shocked that Rivian would continue to leave the interior images on their website the way they are, considering it looks nothing like that in person.

I saw it in the flesh. In the shade it looks like a gray. In the sun, it’s very obviously green. I personally didn’t like it as much in person, it reminded me a lot of the Olive interior offered on the early ridgelines.

Now I’m wondering if the Ocean Coast is going to be basically white of the Forest Edge is coming in a bit gray.

I get that colors will vary from screen to screen and I understand the appeal of having vivid marketing material but real life photos vs Rivian website photos seem to vary A LOT.

Depends on your lighting. In direct sunlight, it washes out into slightly greyish, but in low light or non sunlight situations it's definitely green. After 4 months, I still love my Forest Edge and wouldn't trade it for any other- but that's a personal choice.

This is my FE/Limestone R1T. The FE leans more into the grey spectrum than it does green. For me the wood dash is what I most wanted in FE once they killed the OC wood.

So…. I actually had my Rivian blue with forest green delivered yesterday.

Most certainly DOES have green in it but it’s very muted and more moss like.

Still, looks really nice and doesn’t clash with blue. There is still a lot of black within the vehicle, it’s really just the headliner, seats, and a few trim pieces that are green. You don’t really notice the forest green as much as noticing the wood when you enter. It’s has more honey tones than other options. Very reminiscent of an 80s Dodge Caravan or Jeep Cherokee.

In all a very unique and attractive look in my opinion. But my car is blue. It has a very custom feel with the excellent Rivian materials. But certainly it will be up to the individual. You’ll either love it or hate it.

For other exterior colors the forest green will look really nice in my opinion so long as you like the wood color.

Hope this helps someone.

In all I am very happy with the car so far. I can really tell the build quality, tonneu cover etc has improved a lot since my test drive car. I’m a vin in the 9000s and I think they are getting the bugs out. I haven’t had a single thing wrong with my car thus far.

I was a very early adopter of the Tesla Model S (vin 24??) and you have to accept you are buying a vehicle that’s still evolving. Rather than fight it you have to welcome the opportunity to be part of something new and help Rivian refine the car. I discovered a few bugs with the Tesla and enjoyed working with Tesla to figure it out. I feel part of why the vehicle is so much better today. That being said, while Rivian has a long way still to go I find them WAY ahead of where Tesla was at this point.

Cheers to you all and I hope you get your vehicles soon.
