One of the new features of Google Maps 10.30 will allow you to pay for charging through the app. It will also monitor charging stations to show you which ones are in use.

This is going to pretty handy to use rather than switching back and forth between apps.

Speaking of driving, electric cars are becoming more en vogue but finding charging spots aren’t. Google Maps already helps drivers find the most convenient and available station given their car and preferences but drivers have to inconveniently switch to another app when actually paying for charging.
Version 10.30 or later may actually let users pay for EV charging right from Google Maps itself. The feature still isn’t available or visible and Google is probably still trying to negotiate with car makers regarding the setup. When they do, you can expect all parties involved to make some loud noise about it.

Thanks much. Now if we could get access to Google Maps in the head end so we didn't have to look it up on our phones, that would be great.

Does not seem useful.. Electrify America is going to Plug and Charge, no need for any app or credit card. Charge Point and EVGO already have partnered together and you can pay from either app for the other network. Why does Google say they need to work with car makers? Makes no sense since the car makers have nothing to do with the charging networks. (Except for Tesla of course)
