How long are you going to keep your Rivian?

For me it will be before the 5 years or 60k miles is up.

Maybe sooner, depends on what shiny new objects come out.

How about everybody else?

If and when I actually GET the truck, and optimistically hoping it's not one of the rare "lemon" variants, it'll probably be my sunset vehicle. I'm 70 and the OTA changes to my personal chassis and OS are not exactly "upgrades". In fact, if/when that FSD feature comes into play will be much appreciated.
Was 78 when we received the R1S and hope to drive it past 88 years of age. And even longer if Rivian improves Driver+ a lot and I keep kicking.

Just want to say my experience is totally different. No real problems. Fit and finish is A+.
Welcome to the forum @Kwgeorge! Glad to hear your R1T experience has been good so far. How long have you had your truck and what spec is it?
Sounds like it really depends on how much of a "techie" you are. Mechanically, an EV's skateboard platform should be relatively trouble-free for 500,000 miles or more. However, what technical bells and whistles will grab your attention in the future and get you to "upgrade" to something else???? Using the computer analogy....if you were interested in basic word processing functions...and that's still really all you want to do, then a 1st generation IBM PC can handle all your needs a whole lot faster than you can type. BUT.........if over the years things like YouTube videos got your attention and you just had to have that new technology, then you've likely upgraded to a new computer every 3 years.

Cars follow a very similar trend. Some of us will probably keep a Rivian for 2 or 3 years before some new model catches our eyes. Others will be more than happy to keep a Rivian as long as we can keep it on the road and running.

Variety is the spice of life!!!! Enjoy the Rivian adventure!!!

My fit & finish is excellent, only found 1 minor imperfection. The interior is the nuts dead gorgeous!

I’m keeping R1S as long as I can or possibly replace with max pack if there is such thing for R1S.

Huh! Thanks for your reply, but it's left me in the usual quandary that I have been wrestling with -- to buy or not to buy. I've got a May/June delivery estimate
If you live in the same service center area as this guy, I would think twice myself, that experience sounds awful. My service center in Kansas isn’t amazing but they definitely don’t add damage, they’ve fixed the couple issues we had, they book mobile appointments whenever possible and the one time I had to bring it in, they gave me a loaner R1T. They have messed up with not addressing items and closing tickets that still needed fixed but overall they did good work and the truck has been running amazing, no issues for the last 8 months besides recall checks that they came to my house for.
I have had no real issues with my R1T. It’s a great truck, handles like a sports car, quiet and comfortable for long distance (I recently drove it Houston-Las Vegas-San Diego-Houston. My only complaint is that my black truck shows dirt more than the lighter colors. If you’re going to spend this kind of money to get a truck, buy one that’s fun to drive. For me, it’s a Riv.
Yeah, it really doesn't. When people say it does it just makes me not trust any of their other opinions.

Maybe they mean it's a sports car because it can go 0-60 in 3.0seconds in a straight line.

Exactly. I test drove a Rvian. It drives like a truck, which is what it is.

Why not call it a motorcycle?
Why not call it a motorcycle?
Because it has significantly less body roll than a motorcycle :p

Good point. Thanks.
I don't want to salt the wounds of CommodoreAmiga by asking which SC, and in fact it's irrelevant if it isn't the same as mine.
With that being said, can anyone comment on the experiences with the Atlanta GA SC?

It handles like a sports car to me. It does not handle like a truck - to me. Better?

I have bad news for you...

Not really.
I've only driven the R1S. It handled like a very sporty utility vehicle.

Damn. This would be my service center too. When I went there a few weeks ago for a test drive, I wasn’t impressed.

To be fair, Atlanta was the better of the two service centers I've worked with (I've also been to Richmond SC).

I cut bait and bought a BMW iX M60. LOVE IT and I’m not looking back.
