Did anyone see the Hummer EV #00001 at Barrett Jackson auction?
Some lady paid 2.5 million
Just crazy 🤪
Who is the lucky #1
Probably 90% of the people I talk to about Rivian have no clue
We are so lucky
Is it JUNE YET

It is really too bad that Rivian did not offer up a VIN 001 for charity, the timing would have been great. These other VIN 001s also went at the auction, all for charity:

  • Bronco $1.075M
  • Mach 1 $500K
  • TRX $410K

So, that is a total of $4.5M for charities in one day. The manufacturers donate the vehicles and Barrett Jackson waives their auction fees, so 100% goes to good causes.

Vin #001 & 002 were used to film a Long Way Up and were the early prototype test vehicles.

Those are not the "official" VIN 001 vehicles. GM has 15 Hummers out testing, but the official VIN 001 bought at the auction is not yet built. All the Rivians out driving now are pre-production models.

It is said in this video that one of them was Vin 1 at :52). Even if they were early prototypes, the probably still need VINs to be licensed for being on the roads.
