Is Rivian having financial problems? They will not reply to my request for $1000 deposit refund after three weeks

Due to personal circumstances, I am not able to buy a Rivian. I emailed Rivian customer service twice over the past three weeks, but they are not replying?

Is Rivian in financial distress that they cannot refund deposits?

If they refuse to address my refund request, what are my legal options?

They have cash on hand, see below. I don't think your $1000 will mean much to them. Call your credit card company.

I had two reservations and canceled one. The process did not require contacting a Rivian representative and was completely on-line. My recollection is that the refund was processed pretty quickly, in just a few days.

If you haven't requested a refund via your Rivian account, I'd start there first. If that doesn't work, you can try chatting on-line with a rep from customer support.

I do not know how to request a refund through my Rivian Account. The instructions I found directed me to email their customer service which I have done two times. The first was over three weeks ago, and the second time was a week later. No reply yet. I am now trying to get through on Chat. I tried chat earlier, but the wait time was more than two hours. I am trying again, but I am number 78 in line with an estimated hold time for 30-40 minutes. Not very reassuring.
I am fairly certain Rivian is not holding onto your $1000 because they need the money to buy a roll of vegan leather. I would guess Amazon's latest $20 million check did not bounce either.

Log into your Rivian account and press cancel order? Is it different now. Before I took delivery a couple weeks ago I had option to change order to R1t or cancel order.

If this is another sly way to try to sell your reservation, may your bunghole burn like 1,000 reaper peppers.

OP posted the same message in that other forum ... but he also posted the resolution, which is that Rivian did reply to his messages but they went into his spam folder and got deleted. After contacting Rivian via chat, he found Rivian's latest reply in his spam folder. They were asking for him to confirm his address so they could mail the check.

(remove the space in the following URL if you want to see for yourself - this forum re-writes links to that other forum so they don't work unless you do something like adding a space)

I returned my charger over a month ago. It took a month to get the return shipping label, which I used right away, and it's been another month and still no refund check. I don't know if its financial troubles as much as terrible follow-through on basic customer service. If I didn't like my R1S so much, I'd return it just on the anxiety around the quality of customer service during ownership.
Again, it was his email spam filter, not a case of Rivian running out of cash or any other ridiculous theory.
