Is this the Rivian rally electric vehicle?

I'm surprised I haven't seen these photos until now but we might have a first look at what Rivian's Rally EV could look like.

In this photo of a R1T from February, you can see a bright blue shell, that kind of looks like a hatchback. It could be for the rally car or for another project.

This is what autoblog wrote about the photos:
According to our spy photographer and his designer source, we shouldn't get too carried away with design speculation from this one prototype. Apparently these design bucks are used for testing sight lines, seating arrangement, ergonomics and such. As a result, the exterior design is far from finished, since most of it won't be seen from the inside. But the window shape does suggest a somewhat curvy hatch, and our photographer notes that the fenders could be similar to production, as they could affect visibility if they're as wide as they appear to be.

I really want this to be the rally car/truck. But it's more likely just to be something they use for testing the R1S and R1T.

I wouldn't doubt a road going version.
However, instead of a model dedicated for that purpose. We might just see the R1S or a smaller Rivian SUV sold as an electric alternative to the Wrangler.

I really hope Rivian's next move is a smaller SUV, it'd be fun to watch them directly go after the Wrangler.

That does seem to be the best course of action, but who knows at this stage what Rivian is thinking.

Someone created new renderings for what the rally car/truck could look like. I'm not really wowed by them but they're a good start.

Rivian rally car renderings

Again all looks great but the front 🤦
At the very minimum remove vertical lights and make horizontal functional and I would totally buy it .
That is an abomination. Truly awful.

I think what could actually work as a smaller & sportier vehicle option is a Rivian version of the Evoque.

That’s an even worse abomination! I always thought the Evoque looked like something fell on it and smashed it!
If it's a purpose built race truck then it doesn't matter to me what it looks like but as a consumer vehicle it would need a facelift.

What makes them so bad

Everything. I can't find a single thing I like about them. They are among the most hideous pictures I have ever had the displease of gazing upon.
Rally car looks like my Mom's 1972 Chevy Vega with oversized wheels.
