This might help anyone still deciding between which color to get for their Rivian. Here's how LA Silver, Limestone and Launch Green look next to each other in the sun.
I've seen the glacier white, and it's nice - I don't know what it is, but it doesn't come off as a typical contractor truck/cheapest color white. Maybe that's just because it was new and shiny, but I usually hate white and I didn't hate the white Rivian.
I've also seen the launch green, and my impression was that it wasn't as "military" as I expected. Again, that's probably because it was so new and shiny (you don't see a lot of shiny military green ...), and again I'm sure it will look different when covered with dust and mud. But personally I've had to live with too many shades of olive drab or olive green over the years, so because I get to choose this time, the launch green is my last choice.
My issue is that I need a light color vehicle. I had 3 black vehicles in a row. 2015 F350 6.7, 2017 Ford Raptor, 2006 SL55 AMG. I'm so sick of dealing with dark colors and the washing regimen that follows with having to dodge sunlight whenever I wanted to wash them. The problem with Launch Green, is that in the shade it shows swirl marks and the color turns dark with all the problems of dark color paint. In the sunlight, it looks light color and is gorgeous !! But, I just cringe when I see it an angle in the shade. I really like the LA Silver too, but I think ill regret not getting the white. Like I said, I have switched back from LG to GW a dozen times, plus Limestone a couple times. I've been to many events and seen many R1T's in the wild, but unfortunately I have not seen the LG in person. I only saw a swatch at the Venice Hub of all the colors and that just doesn't represent. I'd really love the seen the Launch Green and Limestone in person. Although doubtful I'll drop the extra $$ for the Limestone at this point and GW will probably be easier for resale.I've seen the glacier white, and it's nice - I don't know what it is, but it doesn't come off as a typical contractor truck/cheapest color white. When I get the chance to pick my color, it'll be launch green ... as long as it's still an option! 😬Launch Green will be hard to pass up on, not many greens like it throughout the auto industry.
