Hi, just want to add my experience to the discussion. I have an R1T that is parked in my garage. Temp 70 degrees. Unlocked. Gear guard off. Latest update 2023.6.2. No one home. No cell phones near it. Connected to wi-fi. I have lost 50 miles in the last seven days. By the time I get home from vacation, I will have lost over 100 miles. I'm thankful its parked in my garage and not at a hotel in San Jose. I would not have enough range to get back home. I love my truck, but it's things like this (and the learning curve that goes with it) that keep me driving our gas SUV on trips. Disappointed.

I suspect you might lose fewer miles between now and the time you get home if you would close your app on your phone and quit "checking in on it". It's kind of like when I go to bed before my wife does and she comes in and says "Are you asleep?"...to which I usually reply "I was" and then go back to sleep.

Thanks John,
I agree. I checked it the first day, day three and day seven only realizing that the car wakes up every time I check it. However, I didn't close the app. Good idea! I'll try it.

With my previous Tesla X, I had it brick on me while on two week vacation which had been left with supposedly 170 miles of charge. With this experience, I was very interested in how well my Rivian R1T would do. I haven't made scientific measurements but have visited my sisters farm in Wisconsin with Wisconsin cold winter nights and only minimal loss overnight. Overall I have been very impressed by the lack of loss compared to my previous Tesla. I make sure that I have nothing on, lock the car and get out of the app. Was curious if those that previously have had an issue of high loss have figured out why and fixed
