Curious if anyone else got “good” news in the update email?

Our window went from Jan-Dec 2024 to Jan-June 2024.

White R1S large pack, black leather, 20” ATs ordered 1/22, location Denver.

Mine went from April-June 2023 to July-aug 2023 - due to not being near service station. I am 2 hours from Bloomington normal IL and 3 hours from Chicago. Ordered march 2021 Forest green 22” ocean coast interior
Mine stayed at “Processing Estimate” because I’m not near a service center in Wilmington, NC. Ordered R1S Nov 2021. Seriously considering “moving in” with my buddy in Richmond, VA for shipping purposes. I’m in NC, not the freaking moon. Ugh.

Same here. Mine went from a delivery swimming pool of January-December 2024 to more of a delivery garage door of January-June 2024. Happy I didn’t lose ground. Won’t lie though…disappointed my timeline didn’t improve, even though I had no evidence based reason to believe it would.

I must have missed the cut. I ordered R1S, Limestone, 22" sport dark 2/22. Went from Jan-Dec 2024 to July-Dec 2024. Disappointing to see it in print.
I went from Feb-Mar 2023 to April-May 2023. Absolutely no idea why. Jan 2019 reservation, close to service center.

How do you all know the reason for your delivery change/status?

Never change your configuration!! I updated my R1S order (placed June 2021) from Green with standard wheels to El Cap with 22” (after seeing one reviewed on YouTube) and my delivery window went from July-dec FY23 to a new window of Jan - jun FY24. The new rational for the delay said that I am too far from a service center yet i had no change in my address (less than 45minutes from the San diego service center). Seriously thinking of getting a jeep 4xe while I wait, ordered the Rivian as a fun car to compliment the two teslas in the garage and replace my 2020 15mpg 4Runner for camping/off roading. Frustrated and Tired of all the delays :(

I hear you, my original delivery was march-June fy23, they have bumped my date three times now. The way Rivian is burning cash they will be acquired by another company before I get delivery…lol.

I am going to take my updated “window” as a win then. Also holding out hope Rivian is now being more conservative with the “windows” the farther out your estimated delivery date is. Call me Pollyanna if you want 😂

Also got the email last night. I’m a Dec 2018 reservation in Boston and just went from July - Sept 2023 to March - April 2023. Surprisingly, also have a first drive schedule for next week.

R1S Rivian Blue, Ocean Coast, 20” AT

They are a joke. Same story here...Jan 2019 rez. Just got the same delay you did, only this time they didn't bother to include an excuse or let us know they've changed their prioritizations once again to suit their goals. They definitely aren't considering ours or just fairness in general....hate it that I have to go into this with such a bad taste in my mouth. I really hate buying such an expensive product from a corporation that makes me feel this way. It's like some other large corps (Verizon comes to mind), their product is superior to others to the point that they can change the rules without much recourse.

ordered in april 2022..delivery window prior to last night's was '2024' and it miraculously changed to may-june 23.

very happy potential buyer here..located in westchester cty, ny
They sure got my hopes up for a second:

We’re happy to report that your delivery window estimate...

...remains the same!

Well, I guess it's better than being pushed back.

Getting my Lucid Touring this month should help keep me from being too disappointed.
Ordered R1S on 3/31/22. Our previous delivery estimate as of 10/28/22 was Jan - December 2024. Our new delivery estimate as of 1/31/23 is July - September 2023.

Here in central Idaho, we are not near a service center. Not sure why we moved up so much. We've not changed our configuration since the first order, except we did add a compact spare tire a few months ago. The latest configuration shows the spare tire was removed (by Rivian), along with the roof rack cross bars. The overall price reduced accordingly. Apparently, the cross bars can now be purchased in the Gear Store, but cannot be configured.

We have no info from Rivian on removal of the spare tire. We notice our published range is reduced to 289 miles, which we understand is attributable to the A/T tires we have selected. (We always knew the A/T tires would reduce the range from 316 to something like 290.)
I’m sure the estimated delivery is based on a complex algorithm including configuration and proximity to service centers, but it certainly seems like Rivian is slow rolling the original (i.e. pre price increase) orders. I was relatively late to the game, reserving my R1S in Jan 2022, but it’s frustrating to see reservations placed after mine with projected delivery dates ahead of me. Hoping I get an invite to the R1 store eventually!

October 2018 deposit for a white R1S with Ocean interior. Location Raleigh, NC. Just received the email that delivery time is still unknown and expect an update again in April. We did receive our R1T back in April 2022 so not sure why they are still afraid to deliver cars in NC as there are plenty of Rivians on the roads around where we live. Its very frustrating to say the least. Its been 4 1/2 years since we placed our deposit.

lol… the “happy it remains the same!” Wording was a real let down wasn’t it. We’re glad you’re happy, Rivian!

Wow, this is a huge win for you, congrats. I am mere minutes away from the Rivian SC here in Denver so it’s certainly weird to read your order (placed two months after mine) could be fulfilled potentially a YEAR earlier despite my apparently beneficial location.. crazy! But I am happy for you.

Definitely a lot of questionable moves. Our (August 2021) reservation for the R1S moved back from July/Sept 2023 to Oct/Dec 2023, and R1T reservation (3/2022) moved back from Feb/March 2023 to May/June 2023. I also got an email saying the delay is "in order to align with the opening of a Rivian Service Center planned in your area." This would be a reasonable explanation.... except that I already have a Rivian Service Center less than 10 miles from me, which has been open for nearly a year (San Diego). And now I am seeing a lot of later reservation (including dual-motors) getting earlier estimated windows. I am sure business decisions are are involved, but some clarification on the inconsistencies would certainly be appreciated.
