With the apparent end of free cellular connectivity happening soon, I’m wondering if we will have the ability to find a mobile service plan for the vehicle on our own without having to get it thru Rivian membership. I know they’ve decided to make membership services a la carte now but if the cellular service thru Rivian isn’t reasonably priced, is there anything that prevents (or enables) us to just get service from a provider on our own?? Just curious…

If not, I guess I’m back to streaming music, etc via my phone’s Bluetooth connection…

I just re-read the last email about this and see that a la carte membership is effective today, Jan 16. But also that cellular coverage would continue to be free through the end of this year…so I guess me question is a bit premature but might be relevant in about 11 months!
