Hello Everyone, I just over weekend bought a R1T which was a trade in at a dealership. Can you please share your ownership transfer experience?

I did same thing. It took 7+ days for the ownership to transfer. They said it typically takes 1 day... but far from the truth. Well, at least for me. Getting Guide assigned took 3 business days. Calling the guide to expedite the transfer is nearly impossible. The guide never answers the phone or replies to email. Maybe he was on PTO.. Who knows.

My experience with Guide and customer support, so far, isn't so great..

Other than that, the car is great. I paid 105k for 1400 miles car.. but no regret so far.

They’ve told me now, first send this and did. Then it was send this instead and I did. Now it’s we need to call the previous owner and make sure they authorized the sale. I bought from a dealer who purchased from an auction. Took delivery with 270 miles, paid $106k which is what I can build the same thing for on the website.

Kinda pissed it has now taken over 5 days and nothing has been done. The key fob on this thing really blows.

It's been more than three weeks for me, and i'm still waiting...
My ownership transfer took just inside of a week. Try contacting Rivian CS, or the previous owner. The previous owner will have their guides contact information which should help with the transfer time.
The original owner is multiple states away, and i don’t have their contact info. I purchased from a third-party dealership.

I’ve contacted CS multiple times, and used my VIN to identify my guide. I’ve also spoken to my guide multiple times and the response if get is basically a polite “whenever. it takes as long as it takes.”

It’s been over a month now, so while I love my R1T, and I’m being a good brand ambassador with the many, many folks who ask me about it, i’m not really yet feeling the love back from Rivian.
Sounds like you’re stuck in limbo somewhere.
You’ve submitted the necessary documentation like your bill of sale and drivers license previously ?

Perhaps this is a ridiculous question, but why isn't it the responsiblity of the seller, an auto dealer in this case, to provide the title to the buyer? Delegating that responsiblity to the buyer, not to mention also requiring the buyer to make sure that the original owner authorized the sale, seems odd.

Is the issue the title or transfer of the electronic ownership in the app, etc ?

Yup. I contacted CS on day one. They looked up my Guide based on the VIN, and I submitted all the proper paperwork that first day. There was some initial weirdness with sorting out my Rivian account e-mail, but that was resolved with a single call to CS. But, it's been crickets ever since.

I have the title. That's sorted by the dealership and the state DMV.

This is getting things sorted in Rivian's records, making sure the warranty is correctly transferred, and getting the R1T associated with my account instead of the previous owner. Until that's done, the previous owner's phones are still associated with the vehicle, I can't add my phone. I can't manage access, remove the previous owner's via the vehicle console, can't save my own settings, and so on.
why isn't it the responsiblity of the seller
No kidding. Lesson learned is require the seller to complete the transfer before transaction or an escrow account. Is the online account involved? The previous owner provides the ID and PWD and does the transfer.
This isn't always simple. If you have a trade-in (by the original owner) in the process, that can involve a third-party dealership, then an auction hose, then a second third-party dealership. The original owner may not be in the mix at all by the time it gets to the actual next owner.

Edit: Finally sorted May 31 (42 days), once my guide was able get someone from the right department to track down my transfer attachments and do it while they were on the phone with them.
