Hi all. I’m new to the forum and I’m looking for definitive answers on using a portable generator to charge when in remote locations like a hunting lease. I’m considering a Duromax 13000 watt generator. I see some posts saying that an inverter generator is required for true sine wave, and others that say a conventional generator will work just fine.

What is ground truth. I don’t want to buy a generator that won’t work.

It will work, however most portable generators have separate neutral and grounds. The ground must be bonded to neutral in order for the vehicle to charge.
