Production capacity, any newer info?

All I've heard of Rivian's production capacity is 20,000 1st year, then 50,00 per year.

With "10s of thousands" of preorders, this means that EVEN WITHOUT any production snafus, not all preorders will be fulfilled by 1st year production.

Now, adding in 100,000 Amazon vans by 2024, that means they can only make and sell about 17,000 R1Ts and R1Ss combined per year.

So has anyone heard anything more than "it's going to be tough, but we're planning" (VP of Mfg)"?

Or is fewer than 10,000 of each vehicle model sold per year enough to keep them going?

As far as pre-orders go Rivian hasn't officially shared what the numbers are. With production the number isn't really clear either. In July 2019 Scaringe said 20,000-40,000 vehicles in 2021.

On top of that Amazon is said to expect 20,000 delivery vans by 2022.

I can't imagine it would be worth much to produce less than 20,000 vehicles per year unless they were rolling out Bentley's or Lambo's... I don't think that volume would be enough to keep the lights on. If that is their target, then these vehicles are a footnote of the commercial vehicle production or they are just a technology company that will sell/merge with a big auto manufacturer.
