picked up my Riv a few weeks ago and took it for the 1st little road trip this past weekend. Since it outperformed my expectations in terms of range & efficiency, thought I would give a little report here.

R1S / QM Adv / Large Pack
21” road wheels w/Aero covers removed
Conserve Mode
Highway cruising ~ 70mph give or take

Drove from PDX to Seattle; 90% highway and a bit around the city. Lots of traffic around Seattle so the stop&go and slower speeds surely helped these numbers, but I was still very pleased.

Miles: 401
Energy Used: 152.3 kWh
Efficiency: 2.63 mi/kWh

That specs out to an effective range of 355 miles, a 5% bump over advertised - without the aero covers.

Thanks for sharing.

When I do efficiency tests, gas or electric, I always check the calibration of the odometer. Because odometers often read high enough to throw off the efficiency considerably. If they over-count the miles travelled, then the efficiency is over-stated. Also, the speedometer calibration. They never read too low, so you are often not going as fast as you think.

I've noticed a lot of people think the odometer and speedometer calibrations are locked to each other, if the odometer reads too high by 3% then the speedometer will read too fast by 3% but, surprisingly, this is not typically the case.

I would only disagree on one point here... The tire wear comment about Conserve mode is much more likely to occur when driving OFF the HWY, when turning, accelerating and decelerating in FWD only. Once on a straight away on the HWY, and if you leave the height set at standard ride height, you will not see tire wear. When the vehicle is set to AUTO ride height and it lowers in conserve mode on the HWY, there can be more pressure placed on the inner edges of the tires and you could potentially see more toe wear after 1000's of miles. I do see better range numbers when driving in conserve on the HWY for long multi-hour legs of a trip.
