The Rivian van was spotted in LA with a noisemaker. I won't lie, I don't like the noise
I like it too. The sound is like white noise and won't at all be disturbing when passing through residential areas. The Rivian van was spotted in LA with a noisemaker. I won't lie, I don't like the noise

It also beats hearing this roaring down your street...
To me it's much better than the rumbling of a UPS truck. When I first heard the sound it kind of reminded me of this. The Rivian van was spotted in LA with a noisemaker. I won't lie, I don't like the noise

Pedestrian safety. Its exposed to far more risky situations than a typical EV, hence why say a Camry Hybrid isn't as loud or variates the sound at all. Plus I bet there's still room for refinement of the audio levels and the sound being played.Sure it is MUUUUCH better than a V8 engine. But why having the noise at all? Seriously, this thing that it is dangerously, I don't buy it. I have an electric motorcycle and car, never felt that they needed additional noise.
US laws require sound for all EVs.Is this sound a requirement only for commercial vehicles? It won't be on the R1T and R1S, will it?
Really, sounds for all vehicles -- it's just that EVs don't make enough without some help.US laws require sound for all EVs.
If the R1S and R1T have low speed sounds I hope Rivian uses something different. It's too much for a passenger vehicle. Is this sound a requirement only for commercial vehicles? It won't be on the R1T and R1S, will it?
