I swear, while the Rivian app is open it sucks down my iPhone's battery like crazy. I suppose it is because it is constantly querying the car but my battery life is definitely less while the app is open. I hope it's something that changes with a future update.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

I don't have an iPhone and I'm not super familiar with how they work. By "open" do you mean running in the background or when you are actively looking at the app?

I've noticed the same thing - also an iPhone user. For now, I have found it easier to use the key fob, and keep the app closed. Mostly it's closed because of the annoying proximity lock/unlock issue, which I know Rivian is working on.
Thanks for your post, I think it's a good topic. Hope you create a service ticket with Rivian on the app battery drain issue!

I wouldn't want to leave the Rivian app open in the background for long. Does the key work with your phone locked? If so that is not something I would want. I would force close the app when I was done with the it.

I guess I will be shutting down the app. I liked not having to carry a key/fob but the lock/unlock behavior with the app is a bit unpredictable. I wish the Fob was smaller...
