Rivian Body Work

Has anyone had to have body work done on their Rivian? Unfortunately someone on Reddit had their R1T was backed into by a neighbor.

That sucks, This is what Rivian recommends:
rivian.com

Can I take my Rivian vehicle to a third party repair shop? - Support Center - Rivian

While possible, we recommend scheduling repairs with Rivian Service Centers or Rivian Mobile Service to avoid warranty issues. For additional coverage, we have also established a network of Rivian-Certified Collision Centers to handle bodywork and collision repairs.

This is gut wrenching. The A pillar on mine crunched into the support of a low hanging older garage. I though I was in the “lowest” setting , alas “high”.

I wrapped mine in XPEL PPF, day one of ownership and I’m very glad I did. The painted panel on top of the truck (between the windshield and moonroof), would’ve been all scratched up. The PPF worked exactly as advertised, much cheaper repair for that.

I’ll keep you posted.

Ouch. That is a real concern for me. My office garage is LOW. I can't open the tailgate of my SUV fully. I'm worried the Rivian won't even fit.

Wow that's a bummer, what bad luck. Glad you have a good attitude about it.
Not quite comparable but when my Touareg was barely four weeks old I had a friend spot me down an incredibly tightly winding driveway in San Francisco and he steered me into the stone wall, denting badly my right hindquarters. That same friend many years ago drove my Vanagon into a parked car, badly damaging the sliding door and the other car. He is still a great friend.
