If they outsource it that could speed things up and it's probably the best option.Great. Ow we can wait 4-5 years for the bike ramp,up,too..
I am amazed how successfull Rivian is in keeping the illusion alive. What if there is no production at all, the factory is used for producing prototypes (on pictures you can see mostly the blue and green ones), the company is burning cash rapidly and owners/management only priority is to this whole illusion alive until they are able to sell their stocks and run away with money in May, hence the latest postponement of deliveries till June-July.If they outsource it that could speed things up and it's probably the best option.
Companies register lots of trademarks they never use and file a lot of patents whose contents are never used in products. At the Consumer Electronics Show last week there were lots of electric bicycles, scooters, mopeds, and motorbikes. Bugatti showed a $1000 electric scooter. In this environment, it's prudent to register a trademark for an electric bike if there's even a chance you will be interested in the product category in the future. Will Rivian ever make one? Who knows? And who cares? There are lots of other choices. If they outsource it that could speed things up and it's probably the best option.
Welcome @Jitensha! It's very possible this never comes to market. In many cases companies file a trademark just to keep it away from another company. It also seems possible Rivian could do something like this given how they've positioned themselves as a lifestyle company as well as an EV one.Companies register lots of trademarks they never use and file a lot of patents whose contents are never used in products. Constantly shifting goal posts is unfortunately what they and many have to do when billions are at risk.I am amazed how successfull Rivian is in keeping the illusion alive. Humans tend to believe what they want to believe to feel comfortable. Often, they do not face reality if that is too painful. Let's say there is a good and bad scenario. The key is to generate an almost unbelievable story about the future, which could overshadow the unbelievably bad one. This is how human psychology works. Let's face it. The end of this story will be terribly painful for many.
True. Hence why I think a partnership is the way to go, they just need to repackage an existing product.Companies register lots of trademarks they never use and file a lot of patents whose contents are never used in products. If that turns out to be the case, it would make the Theranos swindle look like someone stealing a pencil from grade school!I am amazed how successful Rivian is in keeping the illusion alive. What June-July postponement? People are still scheduled to take deliveries starting in March.. 60 days from today.I am amazed how successful Rivian is in keeping the illusion alive... hence the latest postponement of deliveries till June-July.
