Rivian recently trademarked the names R3S, R4S, R5S, R3T, R4T & R5T with the USPTO. These should be for the six vehicles the automaker wants to launch by 2025, as confirmed by CEO RJ Scaringe earlier this year.
I know Rivian wants to launch smaller electric vehicles as it expands globally. These will be key to Rivians growth in markets throughout Europe and Asia. Anything bigger than the R1S and R1T can present a lot of challenges with little upside, at least for now.Very exciting!
I wonder if an R3S is a bigger or smaller SUV? Or maybe like a different performance version of it... though I doubt that.
Good question.What about R2T and R2S
Are there any current pickups and SUVs you think they'll make a version of?With a 7 passenger R1S, it is harder to think they need to go BIGGER. Odds are these are going to be smaller (more economical) vehicles for the main stream market. Think of it like Hummer. There was the H1, then the H2, then H3, and (while not widely known) GM was working on a Wrangler sized H4. Smaller vehicles as the numbers increased.
Rivian has already patented:What about R2T and R2S
I actually think they need a bigger one at some point or at least captain chair second row. With a 7 passenger R1S, it is harder to think they need to go BIGGER. Trademarked years ago. It's anyone's guess as to which models will ever see the light of day but it's good business practice to protect yourself early on.What about R2T and R2S
Thanks for pulling those up.Rivian has already patented:
R1T
R1S
R1C
R1A

Rivian trademarks two new vehicles: What could they be?
Rivian has filed for two new trademarks on unknown vehicles, but we might have an idea of what they could...electrek.co
that would be a van, so - R1VI actually think they need a bigger one at some point or at least captain chair second row.
I think once they get production and deliveries going with the 180 kWh battery that could be a viable option for them.I actually think they need a bigger one at some point or at least captain chair second row.
