If you're planning on using the gear guard cable a lot on your Rivian here's some information you might find handy.
I agree and I have yet to see the R1S in person to suggest a potential plugin location. Here are some initial design thoughts...1) For the roof, some roof bike racks have a cable lock but it would be nice for it to have a bluetooth connection to the Gear Guard System. 2) As for the rear hitch mount, I'm confident there could be a plugin near the mount/hotch itself when the hitch plate is removed. 3) Perhaps a system where we don't need a plug in. Meaning, the cable is looped around what you want to protect wrapping around the roof rack and then connects back into itself to make a closed looped cable. Then the technology of the cable could be designed to have a bluetooth connection to the Gear Guard System so if the cable is damaged/cut, it triggers a notification to check out the vehicle.Just giving you the cable is useless - there would have to be a spot to "plug it in" on the outside of the vehicle - I haven't seen any indication of that in the R1S. And where would you put the "outlet" so that it's useful on both the roof and the hitch at the same time? The cable is only 14' long.
