Home test drives have begun! This person in New York was able to test drive a white R1T.
Do you mind not stealing the positivity from every thread you're on? I'm personally very aware that you (specifically) have a chip on your shoulder about deliveries - mainly because you highjack every thread to bring this up. Trust me, i want my R1T as much as you, but i come here for new information..Why test drives, why not just deliver our trucks please! I still have to find a real person who is not a friend of the family, brother/sister/mother/father or employee who has actually gotten their truck? Why aren't you guys talking about that?
From the Instagram posts it says East Islip, NY.Which city in NY ? I live in Albany NY. Just curious are they show R1T for R1S pre order holders ?
But there never is new information.Do you mind not stealing the positivity from every thread you're on? I think most of us agree that it is frustrating the way Rivian has chosen to update and release information on deliveries. It is also true that the pandemic, chip shortages, supply chain issues etc. have had an impact on ALL auto manufacturers. For a new auto manufacturer these can be devastating. Given all this, I'm personally very encouraged and excited to see pre-order holders posting about being contacted for a test drive and also what for now appears to be employees of Rivian taking delivery. IPO process is also encouraging. I'm sure I will eventually get my R1S, just have to manage my expectations given all these variables. But there never is new information.
Please make a stop somewhere along the way between NY and CAJust got off a Support chat. The next drive event after New York is in Sanoma, CA. She said they don't know what city is next. Hopefully someplace in the Pacific NW, but more likely in LA or some equally sprawling metropolis.
I really appreciate this comment as I'm doing the same. Selling my big turbo fully built STI. Gonna miss this car but the R1T checks all the boxes. Gonna still be driving my beater Jetta for the next year or longer^^^ Dude, Its not worth getting up in arms. If you actually need a truck, go buy one and then sell it when your R1T is available. Your happiness or wants should not be contingent on getting your EV Truck asap. Would it be awesome if all my timing worked out and I could have either my R1T, Lightning, or Cybertruck all at the same time and choose it, and also get exactly the amount of $$ I want out of my existing vehicle? Yeah obviously. But that is not what happens most times.
I mean, I sold my sports car last week, because I felt the market was dictating prices so much higher than what I would expect to sell it next year, so I'm without my "fun" car. But its a sacrifice I made. Again, if you are not in a position to do something like that, AND you absolutely need a vehicle that happens to be in a truck form factor, go buy a used truck or something that you can get your hands on now.
