Rivian Membership
Beta terms and conditions

Applicability
Rivian, LLC (“Rivian”) at its sole discretion, intends to test certain non-commercially available products, services, features, enhancements, and/or developments (“Rivian Beta Products”) by making such Rivian Beta Products available to select purchasers and/or users of Rivian products and services before general commercial release. Such Rivian Beta Products will be made available through the Rivian Membership Beta (“Rivian Beta Membership”) program. The Rivian Beta Membership is designed to make Rivian Beta Products available to you on a public collaborative beta basis. You will be given complimentary or reduced-cost access to Rivian Beta Products that are otherwise not available to the public, as determined in Rivian’s sole discretion. The purpose of Rivian Beta Membership is for Rivian to collect feedback, at Rivian’s sole discretion on the quality, usability, operation, and desirability of these products and services to customers.

You understand and agree that participation in the Rivian Beta Membership program is voluntary and does not create a legal partnership, agency, or employment relationship between you and Rivian. If you do not want to participate in the Rivian Beta Membership program, please contact Rivian at [email protected].

Customer Agreement
You Agree that by participating in the Rivian Beta Membership program, you are bound by the Rivian Terms including the Dispute Resolution – Arbitration, Class Action Waiver section which requires arbitration on an individual basis to resolve disputes, rather than jury trials or class actions.

Rivian Account and Payments
In order to use Rivian Beta Membership, you are required to create and maintain a personal account (the “Rivian Account”). Rivian Account creation requires you to submit certain personal and payment information. You agree to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in your Rivian Account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Rivian Account, and you agree to maintain the security and secrecy of your Rivian Account username and password at all times. Some of the Rivian Beta Products available through Rivian Beta Membership may result in the option to make additional purchases or incur additional charges via the saved payment information in your Rivian Account. Customer agrees that Rivian’s Payment Terms apply to all payments made or due related to Rivian Beta Membership. You agree to review Rivian’s Payment Terms before requesting additional cost products or services, and by making such request, you agree to be bound by the Payment Terms. You agree that you are responsible for any and all charges incurred through your Rivian Account. You agree that, even in the event of a dispute, you are nonetheless responsible for prompt and full payment of such incurred charges, some portion of which may be remitted by Rivian if the dispute is resolved in your favor.

Available Products, Services, and Discontinuation
All Rivian Beta Products are provided and included at Rivian’s sole discretion. Any or all Rivian Beta Products may be changed, modified or removed from Rivian Beta Membership at any time, without notice and your Rivian Beta Membership, and/or the Rivian Beta Membership program, may be discontinued at any time, without notice. Your agreement to these terms and conditions or decision to use the Rivian Beta Products in no way obligates Rivian to offer any future product or service of any kind. At Rivian’s sole discretion, Rivian reserves the right to discontinue this public beta and may offer similar products to the Rivian Beta Products in the future. Rivian intends to charge for the same or similar products and services in the future even if such products and services were offered as complimentary Rivian Beta Products. Any Rivian Beta Products included in Rivian Beta Membership are subject to these terms and conditions and the Rivian Terms. For a current summary of the Rivian Beta Products offered through Rivian Beta Membership, please visit the Rivian Beta Membership program page. During your participation in Rivian Beta Membership, Rivian is not obligated to provide you support or additional services related to the Rivian Beta Products. Some of the Rivian Beta Products are provided by, through, or with third parties and may be subject to separate contractual agreements, licenses or terms and conditions. By participating in the Rivian Beta Membership and/or using the Rivian Beta Products, you agree to and shall comply with any such third-party agreements, licenses, or terms and conditions. Any mentions or references to third party products or services in advertising or promotion of Rivian Beta Membership is for informational purposes only and is not an endorsement or recommendation by Rivian.
You agree that by participating in the Rivian Beta Membership and/or using any of the Rivian Beta Products, you are bound by these Rivian Beta Membership Terms and any terms and conditions applicable to the particular Rivian Beta Products you access or use.

Charging Services
You acknowledge and agree that, to the extent the Rivian Beta Products include access to and use of Charging Services (as defined in the Charging Terms), your use of such Charging Services is subject to the Charging Terms.

Wireless Connectivity
Rivian vehicles are internet connected vehicles and Rivian may, at its discretion, make enhanced vehicle connectivity options available to you to provide certain enhanced infotainment or other connected services (“Enhanced Connectivity Services”) as part of the Rivian Beta Products. You acknowledge and agree that your access to and/or use of any Enhanced Connectivity Services is subject to the Rivian Terms and the Rivian Privacy Policy, as applicable.

Wireless Hotspot
You acknowledge and agree that your access to or use of the in-vehicle wireless hotspot capabilities of a Rivian vehicle as part of any Rivian Beta Product is subject to AT&T’s Wi-Fi Terms & Conditions at www.att.com/USTermsandconditions and Privacy Policy at www.att.com/privacy. You also are aware that AT&T’s network management practices are available at www.att.com/broadbandinfo.

Roadside Assistance
The Rivian Beta Products may also include certain roadside assistance benefits for your Rivian vehicle that are not part of the roadside assistance benefits available to you as a purchaser of a Rivian vehicle. Any Rivian Beta Products for roadside vehicle and/or emergency services are provided through third parties and are subject to the Rivian Roadside Assistance Terms.

Pricing
Certain of the Rivian Beta Products may be presented to you as “free,” “no cost,” “complimentary,” or other similar descriptions. Use of such terms is intended to indicate that no charge will be made to the Payment Method (as defined in the Payment Terms) you have on file in the Rivian Wallet (as defined in the Payment Terms). Account histories you may have related to such Rivian Beta Products may show that charges have accrued to your account with a discount applied so that no charge would result to your Payment Method(s). For the avoidance of doubt, the fact that no charge is made to your payment method(s) does not relieve you of (1) your obligations to conform to the various terms and conditions that are applicable to the Rivian Beta Products or (2) any liabilities that you may have based on your misuse of, damage to, or destruction of a Rivian product or service.

License Grant and Restrictions
Subject to the requirement of these terms and conditions, Rivian hereby grants to you, through your participation in Rivian Beta Membership and/or your access or use of the Rivian Beta Products, a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive, limited license to use such Rivian Beta Membership and Rivian Beta Products for testing and evaluation purposes and only in connection with this Rivian Beta Membership program. This license does not grant you any other rights in any software, services, products or related intellectual property that is related to the Rivian Beta Membership and/or Rivian Beta Products (“Rivian’s Content”). Except as expressly authorized by Rivian, you agree not to use, sell, license, rent, modify, copy, reproduce, transmit, publicly display, or otherwise distribute Rivian’s Content. Rivian’s Content is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, regulations and treaties around the world. All such rights under these laws are fully reserved by Rivian.

Feedback
Rivian wants your feedback on Rivian Beta Membership, and Rivian will provide you, at Rivian’s sole discretion, the opportunity to provide information on the usability of Rivian Beta Products and/or your Rivian Beta Membership, their desirability, and/or your willingness to pay for such products and services. You agree that Rivian may contact you from time to time to solicit this feedback via email, questionnaires, phone calls, the Rivian App and other methods. You agree that you will provide feedback as requested, and Rivian will be free to use information that you provide, without compensation, for any purpose and for any duration. You hereby agree that Rivian shall own all feedback, comments, suggestions, ideas, concepts and changes that you provide to Rivian regarding the Rivian Beta Membership and all associated intellectual property rights, and you hereby assign to Rivian all of the right, title and interest thereto, including without limitation rights to make changes to Rivian Beta Membership in ways that benefit Rivian and other customers.

Privacy
The information you provide to Rivian will be used in accordance with Rivian’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. Please read our Privacy Policy carefully to understand Rivian’s practices regarding your information and how it will be treated. Disclaimer of Warranties
By their nature, the Rivian Beta Products may contain errors, bugs, and other problems, and the testing and quality assurance of the Rivian Beta Products may not be complete. Without limiting any disclaimer of warranty or other limitation stated herein, you agree that Rivian Beta Products are not considered by Rivian to be suitable for commercial use, and that they may contain errors affecting their proper operation. YOU ACCEPT THE RIVIAN BETA PRODUCTS “AS IS.” RIVIAN MAKES NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND REGARDING THE RIVIAN BETA PRODUCTS. Just go the email about rivian membership. I am interested to see what itll cost after the trial, i know tesla is 9.99 a month. Hope its nothing more than that.
$9.99 would be an impressive price for unlimited charging and off-road assistance, I am sure it will be higher. I’ll keep an open mind but I suspect that if it is a blanket membership plan for all it would make more sense for some than others. Hopefully they will have a tiered approach with different pricing based on your needs.

It would be disappointing if I have to pay or charging I don’t need to access special driving modes or events. The off-road assistance is an interesting idea, not sure how practical when you consider potential wait times/cell coverage for remote areas.

valid point I think the charging will be separate I was thinking connectivity like streaming services and stuff for 9.99 like Tesla does to access Spotify the internet in the car

Clearly there's a massive set of variables at play, but it would seem reasonable for Rivian's membership to fall somewhere in this range. Commercial rates for electricity can be much lower than residential retail rates, but with Rivian's commitment to carbon neutral supply, some of those same low cost electric offerings may carry a greater carbon offset "tax" on the back end.

Happy to share a link to a sheet with formulas etc if there's interest.
