I share in your frustration and disappointment. But just on this one issue, the benefit of a pre-order is to reserve your place in line when the vehicles are being delivered. This is not dissimilar from what Tesla is doing with the CT or the Roadster, unless of course you think they will still produce $39k CT or that a quad-motor, 500+ mile range, <2.9 second 0-60 CT will still be $69k.And this all circle is back to the beginning of the price change. If there is no price protection and no realistic delivery dates what on earth is the benefit of a pre-order.
