It looks like Rivian has increased the price of the quad motor all-wheel drive option from $6,000 to $8,000.
It was a 6k option before so it has gone up 2k.What was it before?
I use the dual motor almost exclusively in all my driving on the 21" wheels and tires. It is still plenty peppy for a 7000 vehicle and you still can beat most vehicles off the line if you have to move over in a last minute lane change. At 6k it was a hard call for me as I don't need the power, but 8K I would go dual motor, unless the reviews of the dual motor setup are negative.
Have you heard the recommendation not to do that as it'll wear down your front tires extremely quick like under 10k miles and they'll need to be replaced, just what I've seen thus far, so head's upI use the dual motor almost exclusively in all my driving on the 21" wheels and tires. I've got orders in for an R1T, Tesla Model X and Lucid Touring. I'll have to give up one (blame my wife!) and I'm thinking it'll be the Lucid - as much as I love it.There was an R1S that went for $130K on Cars & Bids. By the time I get mine, I doubt that they will be that valuable, but I will still be able to sell it for more than I paid.
Not that I intend to sell it, though. When I take delivery, I will have a Genesis GV60, a Lucid Touring, and the Rivian R1S.
One will be sold. Unfortunately, it will probably be the GV60, which I did not buy at a lower-than-market price.
No way? I did not know that. I am supposed to operate in quad motor mode then?Have you heard the recommendation not to do that as it'll wear down your front tires extremely quick like under 10k miles and they'll need to be replaced, just what I've seen thus far, so head's up
The dual motor version is one motor on each axle, it is a different system than quad motor. It has 600 hp IIRC so more powerful than the quad in conserve mode.I use the dual motor almost exclusively in all my driving on the 21" wheels and tires. This is referring to driving in Conserve mode, which only uses the two front motors. The "dual motor" version of the Rivian is something different - it does not exist yet and won't be shipping until 2025 according to Rivian.I use the dual motor almost exclusively in all my driving on the 21" wheels and tires.
