I think that is my old 87 Suburban, maybe something from the last twenty years? Range Rover, wheel, great off-road, breaks in your driveway and on the way to the supermarket but looks good. Good show, though; thanks for the work.; Range Rover is wider but always in the shop with electronics problems and back ordered parts, They ran that old Buick engine from GM for 40 years until Ford purchased them, and Ford couldn't even fix the electronics and said, let's dump this; now Tata tried, and they and Jag are still at the bottom for reliability in every survey now for 40 years.

I have the Model 3 and had ordered the F150EV. The F1S is the perfect size. Fits in my garage and small enough for the metro driving I do 90% of the time like the Model 3.

The F150 was going nearly 3 feet longer and a pain in the metro driving. Flip side, it's about the size of a Chevy Tahoe for towing my boat and car camping for my other 10% while still being manageable in the metro.

What's the anchor point of comparison? That is, what is lined up in each picture? Looks like maybe the center of the car...

If that's the case, does the R1T really have a different wheelbase than the R1s? In the picture it looks like the wheels don't line up at all, which really surprises me.

EDIT: A quick look at rivian.com confirms the R1S wheelbase is significantly shorter.

It was all done based on the wheelbase of the vehicle, the allignment after scaling was random based on how well the vehicles could be seen.

I think the difference is 5"? Regardless, I agree that the XC90 looks a tad too small.
Overall it seems reasonably accurate but I agree that there are some discrepancies between actual dimensions and this visual comparison.

I had one of those for 18 years, just sold it! I agree, it's almost jarring to see how much bigger the R1S is. And I think it's about right, maybe the Touareg is a tad too small in that picture but not by much ...

Yup, 5.8" difference. XC90 length is 195" vs. 200.8" for R1S.

Yes. Their lack of reliability, MPG and no 3rd row (until 2022) made me wait for the R1S. I'll be very interested in the all electric 2024 Sport model. Maybe pick one up in 2026 (won't need 3rd row by then....maybe).

Thanks for the comparisons, this is great work. If you have the time it’ll be nice to see the larger SUV in the back and smaller in the front so it’s easier to see the size differences from the top, front and back. No need to duplicate Model X/Y since it’s essentially the same vehicle and you can eliminate non-SUVs to save time, i.e, Model 3 etc.

Agree. I feel the Suburban and the Wagoneer are the two main competitors in this category and neither of them are represented.
