If you're in drive then the truck would have given a lot of warnings that there was an object close by. Also, if you're moving at speed the collision avoidance system in the truck works well - I guess not at slow speeds however. Seeing this makes be feel good!. A lot of the safety features in the truck are annoying to someone who uses it for construction or towing etc. Every time I lift my butt out of the seat it goes into park, cant drive with the door open etc. For those reasons, "dumb" vehicles are sometimes easier to drive. But if you need to drive over something to avoid an emergency etc, I'm glad you can force the vehicle to do so.

A steel post buried in the ground in front of the charge station would solve this problem, and generate some income for the body shops. I bet you will start seeing curbs or posts installed soon.

Most stations (EA for example) are set up with posts for this very reason... At least out east.
