Rivian tweeted photos of some of their newest R1S/R1T owners. In the tweet if you look at the woman taking delivery of her R1S, it's their VP of Hardware Engineering Vidya Rajagopalan.

Great to see more Rivian employees take delivery of these. Looking forward to her take on the R1S as a family hauler.

In the article that you reference, as it turns out, the first two were handed over to the CEO (RJ Scaringe) and CFO (Claire McDonough) of the company. I'm not saying there haven't been any others but the only 3 deliveries of the R1S that I've seen publicized so far have been internal.

And 12" shorter than the R1T. Compact vehicle that tows 11k. Has to be one of the best urban/outdoor combinations. Be interesting to see how the Chevy Blazer EV compares.

That is more inline with Tahoe sized SUV's at $63k vs. $72k for Explore R1S. R1S is 10" shorter.

ICE Chevy Blazer is 4,500 towing but will the EV version coming out next year boost that up to 7700?

Wheelbase is an important determinant of towing stability, with 110" often considered the minimum length needed to safely (minimize sway) tow trailers of up to 20'. Even though the R1S is quite a bit shorter than other SUV's such as the Tahoe, it's 120" wheelbase and 4 independent motors should make it a great towing platform.

Now if Rivian would just give the R1S a large enough battery to let those of us planning to tow campers go more than 100 miles before needing a charge . . .

Ah, Yossarian, there you go being pessimistic again. But if I still lived in Philadelphia I'd be pessimistic too ...
