You can do something similar with this:

That’s what I do in my garage. I wrap some 3M double-sided cushion tape around the right place on the cord and use one of these overtop;

with an eye hook though the closure that the cable attaches to. Works great. YMMV on 1/2” vs 3/4” based on the diameter of your charging cord.
