In summary: he likes it a lot. The video is all about features -- the stitches, tie-downs, back-seat access, etc. Nothing about build-quality or driving experience. Only complaint is that he thinks the chrome below the roof is a waste of money. He may talk to his wife about trading his R1T for the S. He seemed proud that Rivian had re-priced the vehicle to what he'd suggested before, and thinks it gives any other SUV a run for its money.

FYI the release/open button for the rear lift gate is located at he bottom of the V in Rivian. I assume it was engineered to be a pointer to the button.
Video also forgot to mention (unless I missed it) that the rear floor is leveled (small step up to back of rear collapsed seats) by moving the rear floor cover to the upper notch position.

I saw the video, Sandy only commented on the looks and interior and no criticism on other issues, Maybe he will do another video later.

Only 2 Regen levels - strong and stronger- causes uncomfortable jerking motion when driving. (would be nice to see 3 lower levels with ability to adjust while you drive without going into the "Computer to do it)
Louder than normal Motor whine-
Louder than normal fan noises -
Road noise.
All of these i'd say they need to work on Sound Dampening

Charging speed is ok, but not great for this price point vehicle.
No Cruise control , unless you on Driver + then you can use it, But D+ only works on mapped roads.

Other than that Great vehicle. These should be easy fixes for Rivian. Thing is are they going to bother?

These guys were so impressed from what they analyzed throughout the underbody and suspension that "Range Rover from the future" came to mind.

Just the overkill on build quality and durability seen here (via the front/rear suspension and brakes) really makes you appreciate the R1 platform even more.

What was strange about the whole thing was that Sandy went on and on about a few things that are common across many three row SUVs and minivans; it was like he'd never climbed in to the third row before. Rivian's seat release mechanism actually looked sort of poor compared to others so it was surprising to see him gush over it.

totally agree. I’m new to this Sandy guy and he just came across as a bit of an old geezer to me lol.. like he was excited by rear climate vents..

Here are the points I caught from Sandy:

• Chrome is not your best friend if you’re trying to save the planet
• 3-rows great because it folds down easy for storage
• He loves the 3-row space and back support
• Loves the rails. Very well done.
• Very high end with things like air compressor
• A new benchmark for SUVs
• If you want a cheap car go buy something else
• This car is going to last forever
• Lastly-Sandy has cool cowboy boots
