Seems it should be simple, put load bars over your R1T's bed, put cargo box on top tucked in behind the cab for gear or skiis or whatever. Basically same dimensions as a roof-top-tent, ~60 inches long by ~50 inches wide, long skiis can go corner to corner, and preferably not taller than 12 inches.
Yet everything on the market I've been able to find is either super long and not properly fitting over the bed (or cab for that matter), or unnecessarily tall, or no wider than 30'something inches.
Like literally just like this, but without the tent inside the clamshell:

Anyone have any hints or suggestions out there?
Best thing I've been able to google up is this (63x45), but at 15.5" tall that's borderline at best, and the clamshell opens the wrong way:
