I have been asking now for over a year now. Will all Rivians be 2021 models or 2022 models?
I think the answer has now become obvious. Then I could also assume then, that if Rivian wanted to, they could introduce the truck as a 2023 model the way it seems to be going.

This was answered months ago: They're starting with model year 2022.

The question I have is when will we switch over to 2023 model year? I think there's a lot of reservation holders that have no hope of receiving their vehicle until later next year, so that question becomes relevant.

What? are you some kind of idiot? Show me where Rivian has actually said they're going to be 2022 models. It's always been 2021, I've been asking since the beginning of 2021.
Model year for a car and calendar year rarely line up. So a vehicle produced now could easily be a 2022 Model Year even though it is build/sold in 2021.

From Cars.com:

Federal regulations allow manufacturers to sell vehicles for a given model year as early as January of the prior calendar year. That means that shortly after the ball drops to signal New Year’s Day 2021, manufacturers can start selling 2022 models.
