I’ve made it a habit to drive by when I’m down that way. Never any trucks, and appeared to still be in stealth mode. Until today!

two delivery specialist employees came out while I was looking at the trucks. Super nice guys and more than willing to answer questions. They even got the key for the manager’s personal truck and let me crawl around inside of it. They said they’ve already done several deliveries, and the trucks in the lot were overflow because they’d run out of space inside. They said there’s several more inside ready for delivery and these had just rolled off the truck and had not yet been through pre-delivery prep. They said they are getting more trucks in almost every day.

Doors to get inside were locked, but they offered to show me the waiting area and let me take a pic as well.

It’s starting to get real!

Have there been any news of demos/test drives in SLC UT?

I live in Boise ID and would be willing to travel to SLC to see a R1T. I wonder if there is a way to contact the service center?

The employees I talked to said they’d be scheduling individual drives “s00n” for per-order holders. It didn’t appear they had any test drive vehicles there yet - just vehicles for customer delivery and the manager’s personal truck. They let me crawl around in the manager’s truck, but didn’t offer to take me for a ride or let me drive it. Nor did I ask.

if you swing by there during normal working hours, you’ll at least get to see them and the guys will likely come out and talk to you and let you see inside one.

Was in town and went by today March 23, 2022. I saw some VIN numbers in the 3000+ range.

Is that 6th one from left in the first pic the elusive Limestone? Saw a post and pics elsewhere that someone spotted one at the SLC service center.

For you UT folks who tend to head east on I-80 into/thru WY, I was in Evanston today and spotted this at the Smiths there…

EA is also showing “coming soon” locations in Rawlins and Cheyenne on I-80, as well as Casper and Gillette. Evanston to Rawlins is 210 miles, so that’s going to be a stretch on days when the notorious WY wind and weather are in play. Hopefully they will put one in Rock Springs or Green River. Rivian plans to put a RAN there, but who knows when that will be.

I also went by the SLC service center today and far few trucks sitting outside. I’ll take that to mean they were successful is pushing as many deliveries as possible prior to quarter end.

I am a 11-2019 pre-order holder in NC. I didn't get to the selection of the launch edition in time and I have bounced between the R1S and R1T a few times. In NC my estimated delivery time was Q1 of 2023 (for R1T). I am moving to UT about that time so I changed primary address to UT. Utah deliveries please post your pre-order date and configuration. Curious if UT will speed this up.

Another NC -> UT transplant here. Sept 2019 preorder R1T LE. May-June delevery estimate.

Got an invite for SLC First Mile test drive today. Scheduled for next Weds, and they are bringing the truck to me in Park City. Anyone else been contacted for this?

I changed my interior last night from Forest Edge to Black Mountain. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? Timing just seems too close to be mere coincidence.

Im guessing just coincidence? I have a Dec 2018 reservation, BM seats, in salt lake area, but no contact about a guide or first mile event yet. I had heard they were doing it by "area" though not exactly sure how they define that. I'm in Saratoga Springs, about 40 min south of the Service Center.
